PHP Image Host

Four years after the original php image host I’ve started work on it again, this time as open source.

The current version is 1.3.2 (more information, download and demo link on that page).

Installation service now available

I’m currently working on a V2 which will be a complete rewrite for php 5 only whilst still updating the original version 1 with new features. The roadmap for version 1 is below:

* Milestone: PHP Image Host V1.4.0 Due (11/20/08)

This release of PHP Image Host will have several major changes to the code to allow easier customization and updates to future versions.
o Theme / Template System
o Translatable via language files
o Database upgrade / update script

Later versions (hopefully following shortly) will add new features to the applicatation itself and should be easier to upgrade to / install.

* Milestone: PHP Image Host V1.4.1 Due (11/27/08)

The following new features will be available in this release:
o Uploading of zip archives
o Option to use imagemagick or gd library for image processing
o Overhaul of user image and gallery management to make interface easier / more efficient to use
o Image captions and descriptions

* Milestone: PHP Image Host V1.4.2 Due (12/05/08)

The following features are scheduled for this release:
o Comments and rating of images
o Top images, latest images, popular images pages
o Anonymous Uploads
o Option to use image as watermark instead of just text
o Slideshows
o Search by username or gallery name

* Milestone: PHP Image Host V1.5 Due (12/20/08)

Planned Features of this release:
o Anonymous Uploads
o Multiple Disk Support
o Removable of ability to rename image files - user’s can instead add captions
o Members can have favourite images
o Members can tag images
o Search by tag
